Introduction:
Welcome to the Battle of Bands, where musical talent takes center stage! This exhilarating competition brings together diverse bands from various genres to showcase their skills, creativity, and stage presence. Each band will perform original songs and captivating covers, aiming to win over the audience and judges alike. Get ready for a night filled with electrifying performances, fierce competition, and a celebration of live music. Who will rise to the occasion and claim the title of the ultimate band? Let the battle begin!
1. Eligibility:
- Open to bands of all genres and styles,
- The competition is open to all students currently enrolled in highschool or undergraduate/postgraduate programs at any college or university .
- All bands must register to secure their spot before 20th November,2024.
- Teams need to pay the registration fee Rs. 800 per team before the given deadline. They don’t need to purchase entry passes.
2. Competition Format:
Performance Order: Participants will get their performance number after the registration process.. The order will be announced prior to the event
to allow bands time to prepare.
Bands at War consists of two rounds:-
Online elimination round:- Participants need to submit a 2 minutes video of their performance with clear audio in a youtube/drive link format only as well as their participation fee payment screenshot in .jpg format only during the registration itself based on which 10-12 finalists will be shortlisted.
Final round:- The Finalists will be performing at our campus competing against each other.
Performance Duration: Each band will have a total performance time upto 25 minutes. This time includes setup and soundcheck, so bands should manage their time efficiently , 15 min for soundcheck prior to the performance.
Audience Participation: The audience will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite band through a designated voting process. Audience votes will contribute to the final score alongside the judges’ scores.
Judging Panel: A panel of qualified judges will evaluate each performance based on the established judging criteria. Judges may provide feedback to bands after the competition.
Bands that exceed their allotted time may incur point deductions.
Equipment Use: All bands must bring their own and are responsible for their own instruments, but any provided by the organizers must be used respectfully
Backing Tracks Restriction: Bands are not allowed to use any backing tracks.
3. Submission Requirements:
-Participants need to submit their 2 min performance video and only the finalized ones would be performing at the campus.
-All submission files should be renamed as per the given format only:-
[Participant/team name]_[University name]
4. Judging Criteria:
- Musicianship: Technical skill and proficiency of each band member.
- Creativity: Originality of songs and arrangements.
- Stage Presence: Engagement with the audience and overall performance energy.
- Audience Reaction: Audience engagement and support during the performance.
5. Prizes and Recognition:-
Prizes will be awarded to the winners, including cash prizes i.e.
1st Position - 30000/-
2nd Position - 15000/-
Winners will also receive Participation or winning certificates on their registered Mail Id's.
Audience Favourite : Special recognition, exclusive merchandise, and a feature on the university’s social media.
Top participants may be invited to display their work in future university events or exhibitions.
6. Code of Conduct:-
Participants need to carry their University/school ID cards for the purpose of verification.
Participants are expected to follow the sequence decided for the performances strictly.
Participants are expected to conduct themselves ethically and mindfully throughout the competition.
Presence of any kind of offensive content in the performance will lead to disqualification of the team.
7. Organiser’s Rights:-
The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant found to be in violation of the competition rules or guidelines.
The organizers' decisions regarding the competition, including judging and prize allocation, are non-revocable and binding.
Organisers reserve the right to use parts of your performance videos and pictures for marketing purposes.
8. Amendments:-
The organisers reserve the right to amend or modify the competition rules and guidelines as necessary, with any changes communicated to participants in a timely manner that is 1 day prior to the competition.
