Introduction:
Welcome to the Rangmanch at DAMRU! This is your chance to bring the magic of street theatre to life—showcase your creativity, make us laugh, make us think, and most importantly, make us feel. We’re thrilled to see what stories you’ll tell us this year.
Eligibility:
The competition is open to all students currently enrolled in class 11th/12th of any school or undergraduate/postgraduate programs at any college or university.
Participants can compete in teams of minimum 4 members.
Teams need to pay the registration fee Rs. 800 per team before the given deadline. They don’t need to purchase entry passes.
Teams must register before 20th November.
Competition Format:
Theme: The theme for this year is “Unity in diversity”. Whether you focus on different languages, religions, cultures, or social experiences, we want to see how our diversity makes us stronger.
The Nukkad Natak consists of Two rounds:-
Online elimination round - Participants need to submit the script of the nukkad natak in Google docs link format only and based on that Teams will be shortlisted.
Final round - Candidates shortlisted will be performing live at the venue.
Time Limit: Each natak should be 5-7 minutes long. Please stick to the time limit—teams exceeding it will be penalised.
Venue: The performances will happen in an open space on campus. We want the true spirit of a "nukkad natak," so let’s keep it raw and real!
GENERAL RULES
1. ContentGuidelines:Keep it clean,keep it creative! No offensive language, targeted content, or insensitive material will be tolerated.
2.Originality:Your play must be your own creation—crafted by your team,for this event. Any plagiarised content will lead to disqualification.
3.Language:The performance can be in Hindi,English,or a mix both— whatever best conveys your story.
4.Props and Costumes:Since this is street Theatre ,think simple and impactful. Teams are encouraged to bring minimal props and costumes to enhance the storytelling.
5.Music:Only live music is allowed. Bring your dholaks, manjiras, or any other instrument that suits your story, but all instruments must be handled by your own team.
JUDGING CRITERIA
1. Relevance to Theme(30%):How Well You Bring The Concept Of"Unity In Diversity" to life.
2. Creativity and Originality(25%):We want to see fresh ideas and unique takes on the theme.
3.Team Coordination(20%):Great Street Theatre Is All About Teamwork—everyone
should have a role that supports one another.
4.AudienceEngagement(15%):Interact ,involve ,and entertain the audience—
make it hard for them to look away!
5.OverallImpact(10%):How Does Your Play Leave Us Feeling? We're Looking for that lasting impact.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Script Submission: Submit a short overview script of your play during registration in the format specified above. All submission files should be renamed as per given format only:- [Participant/team name]_[University name].
PRIZES AND RECOGNITION
Winner’s Prize: The winning team will take home 15000/-
Runner-up Prize: The second-best performance will receive 9000/-
Social Media Spotlight: The winning performance will be featured on DAMRU’s official Instagram and other social media channels.
Participants will also receive participation or winning certificates in their registered Mail ID’s.

Respect for All: This is a space for creativity and inclusivity. We expect all
Participants respect one another, and any form of discrimination or offensive behaviour will not be tolerated.
Cultural Sensitivity: Let’s keep our art respectful of all communities and
Backgrounds.
ORGANIZER'S RIGHTS
Promotion: We may use photos and videos of your performances for
promotional purposes in the future.
Disqualification: If a team breaks the rules or acts unethically, they will be
disqualified without further discussion.
AMENDMENTS
The Organisers reserve the right to amend or modify the given rules and guidelines after informing the participants in a timely manner that is, 1 day prior to the event.
