1.Introduction:-
Join us for "Step Sync," an exhilarating dance competition at the Damru Fest, hosted at Rishihood University! This vibrant event showcases both solo and group performers, celebrating diverse dance styles and showcasing incredible talent. With electrifying performances, spirited competition, and a lively atmosphere, "Step Sync" promises to be an unforgettable highlight of the fest. Eligibility:-
The competition is open to all students currently enrolled in class 11th/12th of any school or undergraduate/postgraduate programs at any college or university.
Teams must register before 15th November,2024.
Participants can compete in groups of 5 to 20 dancers only. The group should not contain any professional dancer/outsider.
Teams need to pay the registration fee Rs. 800 per team before the given deadline. They don’t need to purchase entry passes.
Competition Format:-
Step Sync consists of Two rounds:-
Online elimination round - Teams need to submit a 2 minutes video of their performance in proper light and clear audio in a youtube/drive link format only as well as their participation fee payment screenshot in .jpg format only during the registration itself based on which 10-12 finalists will be shortlisted.
Final round - Teams shortlisted will compete with each other for the winning title.
Each group will be given up to 7 minutes for their performance. Extension in performance time will lead to deduction of marks.
Submission requirements:-
Groups must submit their music audio in a Mp3 file format before 23rd November on the provided link. No late submissions are allowed.
Groups must also have a backup copy of their music in case the submitted music fails to play.
All submission files should be renamed as per the given format only:-
[Participant/team name]_[University name]
Rules and regulations:-
Participants are required to bring their university/school ID cards for the purpose of verification.
Groups are free to perform any dance form of their choice provided that it is wholesome and contains no offensive, sexually suggestive or content targeting any religious/community sentiments.
Participants should reach the venue at least 1 hr prior to the commencement of the competition. Failure to reach on time will lead to delay in performance as well as deduction of 10 marks from the total score.
Appropriate costume during the performance is advised.
Participation in the competition is entirely at the dancer's own risk. Performance of dangerous choreography will not be reflected favourably in the score.
Use of props during the performance is allowed as long as they don’t cause any delay in the program or any harm to the other participants or audience. For example, oil, sharp objects, broken glass etc are prohibited strictly.
Judging criteria:-
Choreography(40% weightage)
Appropriate attire, jewellery and makeup(25% weightage)
Formation of group members on stage(10% weightage)
Use of harmless props in a creative way(10% weightage)
Confidence & facial expressions(10% weightage)
Adherence to time limit and rules(5% weightage)
Code of conduct:-
Groups are expected to follow the sequence decided for the performances strictly.
Participants are expected to conduct themselves ethically and mindfully throughout the competition.
Nudity and Plagiarism of any design or concept will lead to disqualification of the participant.
Prizes and Recognition:-
Prizes will be awarded to the winners, including cash prizes i.e.
1st Position - 30000/-
2nd Position - 15000/-
Winners may also receive Participation or winning certificates on their registered Mail Id's.
Audience Favourite : Special recognition, exclusive merchandise, and a feature on the university’s social media.
Top participants may be invited to display their work in future university events or exhibitions.
Organiser’s Rights:-
The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any team found to be in violation of the competition rules or guidelines.
The organisers' decisions regarding the competition, including judging and prize allocation, are non-revocable and binding.
Organisers reserve the right to use parts of your performance videos and pictures for marketing purposes.
Amendments:-
The organisers reserve the right to amend or modify the competition rules and guidelines except the theme as necessary, with any changes communicated to teams in a timely manner that is 1 day prior to the competition.
