1. Introduction:
Welcome to “Warmellow” – the ultimate War of DJs competition at the Damru Fest, hosted at Rishihood University, where beats collide and rhythms ignite! Get ready to witness an electrifying showdown as the best DJs battle it out, spinning their hottest mixes to captivate the crowd and conquer the stage. From heart-thumping bass drops to seamless transitions, each DJ will bring their own style, energy, and creativity, pushing boundaries to claim the title of Warmellow champion.
2. Eligibility:
The competition is open to all students currently enrolled in 11th/12th class of any school or undergraduate/postgraduate programs at any college or university.
You need to compete as a team.
You must register before 26th November 2024.
3. Competition Format:
The Solo Showcase consists of two rounds:
Online elimination round: You need to submit a video of your performance not exceeding 10 minutes with proper lighting and clear audio in a YouTube/Google Drive link format during registration. Based on these submissions, 10-12 finalists will be shortlisted.
Final round: If shortlisted, your team will perform live on campus, competing against other finalists.
Each team will have 10 to 15 minutes for their performance. Exceeding the time limit will result in a deduction of marks.
4. Rules and Regulations:
You are required to bring your university/school ID card for verification.
Your performance should contain no offensive, sexually suggestive, or content targeting religious/community sentiments.
You must arrive at the venue at least 1 hour before the competition starts. Failure to arrive on time may lead to a delay in your performance and a deduction of 10 marks from your total score, or disqualification in extreme cases.
Appropriate costumes for your performance are advised.
Participation in the competition is entirely at your own risk. Dangerous choreography will not be scored favorably.
Contestants will be provided with normal DJ Setup. No turntables will be provided.
Contestants are requested to bring their own laptop, headphones and pen drives.
Contestants will be allowed to check the console prior to the event.
Use of Controllers is permitted. The contestants will be given time to set up and do the soundcheck prior to the start of the event.
In case any contestant fails to check the console provided by us or setup his/her console before the event has started, no extra time will be given during the On-Stage performance for setup and soundcheck.
In the event of stoppage of performance by the contestant, the following rules will apply:
If the stoppage is due to equipment failure and due to no fault of the contestant, the contestant will be allowed to perform the set in its entirety from the beginning.
If the stoppage is due to equipment failure that is due to the fault of the contestant, the contestant will be allowed to readjust the equipment and restart the set from where the equipment broke down. The contestant may start the set from the beginning, but the time will commence from where the contestant stopped, and no extra time will be permitted in this regard.
5. Judging Criteria:
Your performance will be judged based on:
Track Selection and Creativity (30% weightage)
Technical Skills (20% weightage)
Crowd Engagement (20% weightage)
Stage Presence and Style (15% weightage)
Originality in Mix (15% weightage)
6. Code of Conduct:
You are expected to follow the performance sequence as decided.
You must conduct yourself ethically and mindfully throughout the competition.
Nudity and plagiarism of any design or concept will lead to disqualification.
7. Prizes and Recognition:
Winners will receive participation or winning certificates sent to their registered email.
The total prize pool is ₹25,000.
Audience Favorite: Special recognition, exclusive merchandise, and a feature on the university’s social media.
Top participants may be invited to display their work at future university events or exhibitions.
8. Organisers' Rights:
The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant found in violation of the competition rules or guidelines.
The organizers' decisions regarding the competition, including judging and prize allocation, are final and binding.
The organizers reserve the right to use parts of your performance videos and pictures for marketing purposes.
9. Amendments:
The organizers reserve the right to amend or modify the competition rules and guidelines as necessary, with any changes communicated to you in a timely manner, at least 1 day before the competition.
